Mid-Term Election Time
Well, it’s that time of year again that all Americans need to think about the decisions that may shape the future. One of those decisions that are on the minds of many Americans is "is my fantasy team ready to make a run in the playoffs." When I first began playing fantasy football I never even thought about the playoffs until the playoffs. By then I had no chance. Here are a couple things you need to think about if you want to win your league.
Do I have a playoff team? If the season ended today would you be in the playoffs? If you are going to finish in the top of your league than the rich get richer applies to you. Now is a serious time to begin planning for key players that will make serious contributions at the end of the season. You may recall in times pass the Colts took the last two weeks off at the end of the season because they sealed up their division and position in the playoffs. This not only makes the fans sick but it can kill fantasy owners when their star players are holding clip boards.
If the NFL season was winding down now and both the AFC and the NFC is up for grabs with Atlanta having the best record at 5-2 and the Pats at 7-1. Do you have big players on any of these teams? If you do you may want to start thinking about players on teams that will be fighting to get into the playoffs or even those who play on bad teams but can put up numbers.
If you are on the borderline getting into the playoffs then the only moves you need to make are those that will reap immediate rewards. Remember the goal is make it to the playoffs! When you think of it is no different than the goal of real NFL teams. If you are in the back of the pack well then you’re just out of luck!
