Friday Sit / Start

(Byes: Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, N.Y. Jets)

1:00 Cincinnati at Atlanta
Atlanta's Defense is decent. That said, I like T.Ochocinco (see what I did there, 2 players one name) to have a good game, and Benson should be real nice in this one too. I don't like Palmer here. For Atlanta you are starting all your "studs". Turner, White, Matt Ryan, and Gonzalez. Wow that was short....

1:00: Buffalo at Baltimore, CBS-6
Well you have to love the Ravens D in this one, but wait. As bad as the Bills are they can really put up some points. Again, against the Ravens I can trust them. Start Lee Evans if you have to, I'm down on Fred Jackson and Ryan Fitz this week. As far as the Ravens go I think you are safe to start Flacco, Ray Rice, and the other "normal" cast of characters. If you read the blog you know I am down on T.J. Hous. so leave him out.

1:00 49ers @ Panthers
Oh yuck, talk about a game full of junkers. Anyway as far a Carolina goes I think you can feel confident in DeAngelo Williams, and for some reason I like Johnathan Stewart here. You want no one in the Panthers passing game and Smith is likely out another week. I don't really like San Fran, because of the whole west coast team traveling east, playing the early game, Carolina is the home team coming off the bye thing. That said, for the 49ers your start Gore, Vernon Davis (if he plays), and Crabtree, yes Crabtree. I think that the 49ers are finally committed to getting him the ball, oh and the Panthers are bad.

1:00: Washington at Chicago, Fox
I think that this game could be a little more defensive than you think. Given that, I think for the Bears you start Forte, Johnny Knox, and Cutler if you have to. For the Skins I think Torain will be decent, not great. I really don't trust the Skins passing game here. I think if you have Santana Moss you start him, other than that I would not feel comfortable with any other receiver including McNabb. It looks like Chris Cooley will not play. If he does not, I think Fred Davis could be interesting, and maybe good for about 8 fantasy points.

1:00 Jacksonville @ Kansas City
Jacksonville is awful on the road, just plain bad. I think for the Jags you roll with MJD and Marcedes Lewis and leave the rest on the bench. Start Sims-Walker if you must but when he has 4 catches for 27 yards don't say I didn't warn you, especially since Todd Bouman is the QB this week. I like the whole laundry list of Chiefs here, Charles, Tom Jones, Bowe, Tony Moeaki, Chiefs defense, and Matt Cassel.

1:00: Pittsburgh at Miami, CBS
I look for the Steelers to be big in this one. Miami's defense has not been able to hold good offensive teams down this year. I think Big Ben, Mendenhall, Mike Wallace, Hines Ward, and the Steelers D come up big here. For the Fins I like Marshall to be decent, after that I am not a fan of anyone to be big. I think that Davone Bess will be decent in a PPR league. Ronnie Brown and Williams will be down for me in this game for 2 reasons: 1) Steelers D is tough and 2) they are splitting carries.... no thanks.

1:00: Cleveland at New Orleans, CBS
Thus far this year the Saints D has given up the 9th most points to opposing running backs. That said, the fact that Colt McCoy will start again tells me the Browns are committed to running quite a bit, so I love Hillis in this match up. As far as the rest of the Browns are concerned,  I think the TE Watson will be decent, due to concussions to Cribbs and Massaquoi I am no fan of the passing game. For the Saints it's easy, Brees, Colston, Moore, Meachem (flex), and Chris Ivory if Thomas is out, and obviously Thomas instead of Ivory if he plays.

1:00: St. Louis at Tampa Bay, Fox
For Tampa Bay, it's hard to like anyone from a fantasy prospective. So if you have to, I think you start Mike Williams as like a WR 2. Other than that I am really not a fan of the TB running backs and cannot recommend a start for any of them. As far as the Rams are concerned, I really like Steven Jackson to take over, that said he is my pick for most fantasy points this week. The Rams passing attack has seen a decline since Mark Clayton went down, and I think that Danario Alexander will be a decent WR 3 - flex play this week.

1:00 Philly at Tennessee
This game is interesting because both QBs are possible no starts. It looks like, however, going into the weekend that Vince and Kolb will be the starters, but I really don't think that changes the value of the players around them if it's Collins and Vick. For the Titans obviously you start Chris Johnson, beyond that I like Britt and am not a fan of any other Titan. For the Eagles, the fact that DeSean Jackson is out adds value to Maclin, McCoy, and Celek. I think Kolb will be good again this week, but not near as good as last week. Titans defense is tough.

4:05: Arizona at Seattle, Fox
The Seahawks give up the 5th most points in the league to opposing WRs, so I will take my chances on Larry Fitz this week to score more than 12 fantasy points. That said, I like no other Cardinal this week. On the Seattle side of things I really think that Hasselbeck, Mike Williams, and Deon Butler all come up big in the passing game again this week. I think Lynch will perform well also, the Cardinals D is not that good, folks.

4:15: New England at San Diego, CBS
I've got shootout alert on here, to me you are starting Brady, Welker, Deion Branch, the Law Firm, and Aaron Hernandez, who I think will be the best fantasy TE this week. I like most folks involved in the Bolts' passing game this week.  I would throw out some names, but I am not sure who they will be. If the games were played today it looks like Buster Davis and Patrick Crayton. The Patriots have proven you can throw all over them, that's why I love Rivers in this matchup regardless of who he is throwing to. Ryan Matthews has reclaimed the backfield (sorry Tolbert owners) he will be good this weekend.

4:15: Oakland at Denver, CBS
It's hard to recommend any Raider when the coaching staff doesn't even know who the QB will be. That said, I expect a lot of running by Mcfadden, check downs to Zach Miller, and field goals by Janikowski. On the Denver side of the ball I like everyone with the exception of Eddie Royal because he is hurt. I even like Knowshon.

8:20: Minnesota at Green Bay, NBC
In this one you love the Packers' passing attack which finally breathed some life this past week. I think Rodgers, Jennings and Driver are no brainers and that the Packers D should come up with some Old Grey Beard turnovers. For the Vikings I start Peterson, Moss, and Harvin.  I'm not a fan of Shiancoe here as he has been blocking more to protect the Beard from onslaught.

Monday, Oct. 25 Game of the Week
Com'on guys, how could this not be game of the week.
8:30: N.Y. Giants at Dallas, ESPN

Poor Dallas, change coaches already. I mean when is the last time Jerry Jones has settled for medicare come on really? That said I like Romo, Roy Williams, and Miles Austin to be decent here. Not a fan of the Dallas run game, because the Giants defense is good and it's a time share situation. For the G-men, you gotta love Manning, Steve Smith, and Nicks. To a lesser extent I like Bradshaw and touchdown vulture Brandon Jacobs whose sole job is to rob touchdowns from Bradshaw...
